5 Fit Travel Hacks That You Need to Know

  1. Protect your clothes from your smelly shoes.
    • Place a few dryer sheets in your suitcase to keep your clothes smelling fresh from your tennis shoes. It also helps reduce static too.
  2. Save space and pack more fitness clothes.
    • If you roll your clothes instead of folding and put your underwear and socks in your shoes, then you’ll have more space for things…like a jump rope…or souvenirs!
  3. Don’t get lost on your runs.
    • Use Google Maps offline by typing “OK Maps” and the visible area will save for future access.
  4. Hydrate before your flight.
    • Ever wonder why you’re always dehydrated after flying? Here’s a quick science lesson: the cabin has to be pressurized so passengers get fresh oxygen. The air circulation in planes take in breathable air from the outside of the plane and gives it to the passengers, as it simultaneously cycles out the old air. However, the air 35,000 feet up tends to be dry, with a humidity of only 10-20% which reduces the moisture in the body leaving you dehydrated. So how to prevent this? Pre-hydrate with NOOMA. Drink lots of water on the plane (we recommend the aisle seat). Then rehydrate with NOOMA when you land.
  5. Stretch at your seat.
    • We’ve all been there after a long flight where all you can think about is stretching your legs. Don’t wait till you land, use the aisle to do lunges in place or a simple quad stretch. If that sounds too embarrassing, stretch in your seat.  Here are a few examples of little movements that will help a lot:
      1. Bring your knees up to hip height, hold for a few seconds, and lower.
      2. Extend your legs as far as you can forward (move your bag to your lap if needed) and flex your feet upward and repeat.
      3. Give yourself a double chin by pressing your head against the headrest and back to normal a few times to stretch your neck.
